What is modern luxury? Does it have to be expensive? Does it have to be new? In this quest (that I began four years ago with this blog), I stumbled upon Johanna Dauphin’s work. Dauphin started her own line in 2006 after several years as a designer and product manager at two of the world’s greatest fashion houses; first for the Tod’s Group and later for LVMH owned Fendi in Italy. Her design is inspired by her experiences from living in Rome, Paris, New York and Los Angeles as well as her travels.
Her new collection focuses on a new take on the military influence. Working with recycled vintage, she was inspired by the desert’s harsh climate. An inspiration that give these pieces a character, a bit hard and sexy at the same time.
